I can't believe I'm finally starting my blog! I promised myself, I wouldn't do it until got lasik and abandoned my acrylic nails. But sometimes God has a different plan for us. I want this blog to be one hundred percent real. When people are real doesn't it feel like a breath of fresh air? I want to be able to talk about things like they really are and not try to impress anyone. I want this to feel like a day in the sun, to warm your soul, and make you feel like summer when you were a kid. Let's talk about everything from religion to fashion, getting married to growing old.
Why was "A Day in the Sun" the title I picked? Funny story! About sixteen years ago my husband and I had taken a trip to Atlantis, in the Bahamas. I was lying by the pool while he played golf. There were these three elderly ladies sitting by me who had a strong New Yorker accent. One was scoffing at the skimpy swimsuits, when the other turned to her (accent full force) and said "Gloria you had your day in the sun now let them have theirs!" At the time it made me laugh but I have thought about it many times over the years. I thought about it when I was pregnant, when I had a c- section, when I started to see grey. As I have gotten older, I have decided that I am not losing my "Day in the Sun!" The sun can shine on everyone! I want it my whole life! I want to have fun, to be happy, and to feel good about myself forever! Today, tomorrow and forever will be our "Day in the Sun!" Follow me and let's play in the sunshine together!
